Music industry executive Ricky Anderson is about to give the popular children’s YouTube series Cocomelon a run for their money.

On Thursday (February 9), Ricky Anderson announced the launch of The Tunies, an animated musical series for children which tells the story of Yeezy-wearing Avery and the adventures his diverse group of friends encounters every day at Chasin’ Clouds Daycare. Through the use of song and dance, the endearing characters share key messages such as the importance of manners, keeping a tidy environment, how to stay safe and more.

Before Ricky Anderson was hard at work developing his The Tunies animated series for children, he spent over 20 years working as an executive in addition to his work as the head of A&R at Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music record label.

He explained in a statement how fatherhood inspired him to create the series due to the lack of content available the entire family can also enjoy along with the children.

“As a father of three, I find myself having to listen to children’s music, oftentimes on repeat,” he said. “I couldn’t believe that there was nothing better out there for families to enjoy together. I saw an opportunity to reimagine the genre, taking my skills and knowledge in the industry, to create music and video that the entire family can actually enjoy together, while still focused on everyday routines and children’s development.”

Following the launch of The Tunies, Ricky is also unveiling The Avery Chase Foundation in honor of his late son Avery later this year. A portion of proceeds from The Tunies will go toward providing support to parents and families who have lost their children.

Atlanta Hip Hop veteran Ludacris also recently created an animated children series inspired by his daughter.

After initially announcing the series based on the “expansive imagination” of his oldest daughter Karma Bridges in 2020, Karma’s World debuted on Netflix last October.

Since the first videos were released this past December, The Tunies have amassed roughly six million views and over 100,000 watch hours.
