While 2020 has taken many by storm, S.Y. the Southern Yankee (fka Just Sincere) set his sights on growth by allowing his truth to heal and inspire through his music. Being a New York-born and Georgia raised artist, he has used influences from the north and the south to delivers the most authentic, witty, yet grimy sound that impacts any listener’s intellect. With that said, he highlights topics that many artists aren’t willing to discuss. He was inspired at a young age by his father who was a DJ, producer, and lyricist, he carries the torch by continuing the musical legacy.

The end of 2019 S.Y. released his latest project Going through the Motions, and recently released the new video for the lead single Blame it on Myself, which has reached thousands of views since it’s release. Staying true to the music is something you can always expect, and slowing down is not something you can expect anytime soon. “As long as the world needs more transparency in music, I’ll be there” – Says S.Y.
