It’s a family affair in Teyana Taylor’s new video for “We Got Love.”
The uplifting clip, directed by Teyana “Spike Tey” Taylor, finds the R&B songstress celebrating the love for her family. She pays homage to her royal roots, portraying an African queen while seated in a throne alongside her husband Iman and daughter Junie. Dressed in her African attire, Queen Tey rules her kingdom and shows off her moves while preaching self-love.
There is also footage of Teyana with her 4-year-old daughter and home video of Iman proposing to his wife, along with couples of all races and genders celebrating their love.
The clip features a powerful outro from Ms. Lauryn Hill, who delivers her message of happiness and purpose, and ends with a dedication to the Fugees legend: “Thank you Ms. Lauryn Hill.”
“We Got Love” was released in December and is set to appear on Teyana’s upcoming project The Album. It follows her King Combs-assisted single “How You Want It? (HYWI?)” and the Kehlani collaboration “Morning.”
