Usher and Girlfriend Welcome Daughter Sovereign

Usher is a girl dad.
The singer and his girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Sovereign Bo Raymond. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (Sept. 30), Usher made the big announcement while sharing a photo of his daughter with her tiny hand wrapped around his finger.
“We are feeling blessed and full of love with the arrival of our beautiful baby girl, Sovereign Bo Raymond,” wrote the proud dad, while revealing his current soundtrack. “‘Isn’t She lovely’ by Stevie Wonder on repeat.”
“Usher and Jenn are overjoyed, and so is the whole family, including Sovereign’s big brothers. Everyone is so happy and excited,” a source tells PEOPLE.
Usher and Goicoechea have been dating since at least October 2019, when they were spotted backstage at a Hollywood Bowl concert. Earlier this year, they were seen attending events during awards season including the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party.
During a recent appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” Usher opened up about welcoming a child during the pandemic. “It’s been a tough time for everybody, so great to have this incredible news, this new arrival, really anticipating it,” he said. “I think everybody’s had the opportunity to just take a beat back and realize what really matters in this time, it’s family. It is coming closer to your loved ones and appreciating the ones that you have while you have them.”
This is the third child for Usher, who has two sons—Usher, 12, and Naviyd, 11—from his previous relationship with ex-wife Tameka Foster. The former couple married in 2007 before divorcing in 2009.
Earlier this month, Usher dropped his new single “Bad Habits.” He also announced his first Las Vegas residency, which kicks off July 16, 2021 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
