Bad Bunny to Play 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Bad Bunny will perform the halftime show at Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The news arrived during tonight’s (September 28) Sunday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. Watch the announcement video below.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement to Billboard. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

In a statement to Variety, Roc Nation founder Jay-Z added, “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring.” His company has partnered with the NFL in booking the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019.

Super Bowl LX takes place at Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium. Apple Music is the halftime show’s presenting sponsor, so the 2026 event is formally known as the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.

Bad Bunny shared his latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, in January. The Puerto Rican superstar has since made his third appearance as Saturday Night Live’s musical guest and staged a 30-show concert residency in San Juan. His upcoming world tour in support of Debí Tirar Más Fotos kicks off in November and is set to run through July 2026, with no stops in the United states currently planned. That means Bad Bunny’s halftime show will be his only stateside performance for the forseeable future.

“[Estuve] pensando en estos días, y luego de hablarlo con mi equipo, creo que haré una sola fecha en Estados Unidos,” Bad Bunny wrote in an X post prior to the announcement. Translated, it reads: “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States.”

This past February, in New Orleans, Kendrick Lamar played the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, becoming the first rapper to headline the event as a solo artist. During his set, Lamar brought out Samuel L. Jackson, SZA, Serena Williams, and Mustard. He also repeatedly dissed Drake to camera. A performer in the show was detained and subsequently arrested months later for unfurling a Sudanese-Palestinian flag during the performance.
