Yung Lean has officially released his first new music since his 2025 album Jonatan. The tracks arrive as part of the soundtrack for a new short film, Storm Pt. I & II, which stars the Swedish artist and was directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Romain Gavras.
The film presents a futuristic vision, set in 2034, and features Lean in a primary school setting, surrounded by a group of impeccably dressed, albeit mischievous, young gentlemen. Fans can watch the short film below.
The new music consists of a two-track single, created in collaboration with French producer Gener8ion. Both songs are available to stream on all major platforms starting today.
This release follows a busy period for the artist. Following the May 2025 release of Jonatan, Yung Lean embarked on an extensive tour to support the project. His recent output also includes the concert film Live at Globen, which captured an arena performance in his hometown of Stockholm. That film notably featured appearances from his Drain Gang collaborators, including Yung Sherman, Gud, Bladee, Ecco2k, and Thaiboy Digital. Additionally, in September, he teamed up with Bladee for the track “Inferno.”
For those looking to dive deeper into his artistic evolution, Pitchfork’s 2022 feature, The Rise of Dissociation Music, offers further insight into his unique sound and career trajectory.
